There are only 2 things, I can say that could use some improvement. 1. School could use an upgrade. A lot of the Equipment is out-dated and worn. 2. The Office/Administration seems a bit unorganized. Initially every time I would visit the school, it just seemed very chaotic, with no structure or order. The first couple of weeks of school my kids didn't get off the bus until 4:30pm. School lets out at 3:20. I was able to pick them up most days through that transition, but then I would meet with 50 other parents who wanted to do the same thing, therefore the check out process was about 20 mins. Not to mention one of the office clerks always seems to be frustrated by it all , and is short, and very unfriendly. Needless to say, they fixed the bus issue, and the bus comes shortly after 3:20. The confusion, and disorganization, may come from many changes that are being made to better the school. I can expect that. This is an Awesome School, and no matter the previous scores, I am proud my children are able to attend.
Before moving, I researched the school. It was disappointing to find that they have some of the lowest testing scores in the county/state. The GS rating is only a (3), Grace Millers(the school closer to us) has rating of (7). As time nearly approached to the start of the school year, I did not want them to go. I checked private schools in the area, and even considered the home school option. Due to hectic schedules. MM Pierce was the decision we had to make. Unsatisfied with the schools low scores, I went in with the preconceived notion about how the school year would play out. They would not be here for long. My kids started, and what we assumed WAS NOT at all true. My kids Love this school. I have never had so much communication from teachers about my children, I feel I need to do better. They are on top of it. They are being challenged on a daily basis. Their previous school was a (6) , and I feel this school has much more to offer. They get to participate in clubs and activities like chorus, chess club, accelerated reading , and even learning Chinese. The 3 star rating, does no justice for this school and its awesome teachers. teachers love them.
Teachers are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!! But playground and blacktop need some attention.
